Our online classroom
and web conferencing software provides an interactive environment in which our instructors and
students can meet. You can see and talk with your instructor in real-time via your
personal computer.
The experience is similar to watching a small television screen
however instead of watching a program your teacher conducts a
live class one-to-one in real-time and you can participate as though you were in the
same classroom.
You can see and talk with your instructor during
class like you would normally do and of course ask questions and
practice pronunciation. Your instructor may use visual aids to
help with teaching such as Power Point presentations.
These are also conducted live online in real-time.
Language Learning Online
Our school is built on the foundation that learning a language
requires communication between people to make it come alive.
How many times have you heard somebody say "I learned Spanish at
school but can't remember anything!"
There is a reason
behind this. The person most likely never used their new
language in a
real context. Most likely they never made the mental shift from
that of using their own language to communicate ideas and concepts
to that of the new language. This process is such a fun
and rewarding experience and few people, through traditional
teaching methods, actually get the chance to accomplish it.
Who can blame them with 30 students
in a classroom the time that a student will actually get to speak a
new language is severely restricted.
At BeGlobal we believe that students need to feel that there is a purpose for learning a new
language and we offer our students the chance to use their new language
in real context from the very first lesson. This is not an automated CD
or software learning system. Students get to build up their
language skills with professional instructors who guide them
through the process and keep motivation levels high. We also offer the chance for
students to take part in language exchanges with other students.
You do not have to be a computer guru to set up the
online classroom system or web conferencing however it does help to be a little computer literate. If you are used to browsing the internet via your DSL or cable connection then you should not have a problem utilizing the software.

The classroom is a
safe and secure environment which only the instructor and
student can gain access to.
How to Implement the
Classroom
The classroom
requires a short software download to
implement and is quick and easy to setup.
You DO require a
high-speed internet connection (258 kbps+).
Before the lesson you
will be asked to download the software. You will then be
able to open up and use the classroom software to contact
the school and take lessons.
We
will walk through the system with you each
step of the way.
Online Classroom

course you may start and stop lessons when you want to.
The classroom also
allows your instructor to
display presentations, send you files to work on or
collaborate language learning exercises on the whiteboard and chat
area in real-time.
You can of course see and hear your
instructor, ask questions and practice pronunciation. The
classroom offers an excellent alternative for busy people.

Microphones:
To speak to your instructor you
will need to have a microphone enabled. Many computers have a built in microphone and some webcams have a built in microphone too, however for the best quality in sound we recommend that you use a headset.
When you purchase a premium membership you will be sent our
recommended headset.
Web Cameras:
You do not need a web camera to
take classes however we do recommend them. There are many web cameras to choose from ranging from around $30 to $170.
Again when you purchase a premium membership from BeGlobal you
will be sent our recommended headset. Please ask our
staff for the details.
Students are welcome to
purchase their own headset and web camera from their local
electronics store. Please enquire as to the recommended
web cameras and headsets before you purchase them for learning
purposes.
