Elementary to Intermediate Japanese: this course covers the Japanese language from the beginning. You will learn hiragana, katakana and some simple kanji.  This course follows a structured syllabus using the popular textbook Japanese for Everyone.  You will be taught hiragana and katakana in the first few weeks as the textbook uses the scripts right from the very beginning and there is little use of Romaji.  There are 27 chapters in total with one chapter taking between two and three (55 minute) lessons to complete. The course usually takes a year to complete and reach an intermediate level.

Japanese for travel/business:  before you leave for Japan why not learn a little about the language and culture?  If you are going outside of Tokyo many people do not speak English and it is helpful to know a little Japanese.  In this course you will learn how to recognize the Japanese scripts, introduce yourself correctly, ask directions, order food and drink, catch the JR and Shinkansen trains and check into a hotel room.  This course will help to make your trip a lot more pleasurable.  It is conducted over a 10 week period with one lesson a week or can be tailored to meet your travel plans.
